In 1994, fashion agent Anton Dell saw a gap in the industry for change and cohesion, brainstorming the idea of a networking hub of brands and agents, matching each in a perfect pairing. His peers quickly scoffed and laughed, calling him crazy, claiming he would not succeed.
And they were right, for the first year.
Twenty-five years and over 900 successful matches later, The Anton Dell Fashion Consultancy is still one of a kind, with over 40,000 registered members.
So, What Do We Do?
Simply put, the consultancy helps fashion brands and designers to find agents, reps, showrooms and distributors to expand into the global market and export successfully. All areas of fashion are catered for, from womenswear to accessories, with success stories coming from some of the world’s most acknowledged and successful brands including French Connection and White Stuff. Most recently, Anton has broadened his professional horizons to include brands specialising in gifting and homeware.
How Did We Develop Our Network?
Anton is firmly rooted in fashion, starting as a small child by picking up stray pins with a magnet on a stick in his parent’s shop. Although his role in the industry has drastically changed since, his determination, knowledge and business acumen have only continued to grow. After representing major European brands for more then twenty years, he is now the face of the consultancy alongside being a sought-after keynote speaker, in demand by trade boards for talks from Chile to New Zealand.
Quickly establishing the USP his network could offer, Anton grew the database through an old school, personal approach, tailoring each and every search to suit and targeting specific market segments. When not matchmaking, he is on hand to offer advice to help companies choose the most suitable countries to expand into. Through his lengthy and varied experience, ranging from retail beginnings through to manufacturing and brand representation, Anton’s know-how in exporting is second to none, reflected in his extensive mentoring programmes on ‘Best Export Practice’ and ‘Brand Building’, rolled out across twenty four countries.
In 2018, Anton now has the support of his team of eight in their London headquarters, each an expert in their field, with languages spoken ranging from Italian to Vietnamese. The consultancy itself has also moved with the times, with new additions such as the ‘Premium Search’ service introduced to accommodate the ever-growing client base. Anton’s now only a tweet or direct message away, growing his presence in the social media scene.
